Joanne Reen holds a Master of Social Work in the State of Michigan and is also certified as an Advanced Addictions Counselor with the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals. Joanne began her clinical practice in 1972, bringing years of experience and dedication in the treatment of addiction and mental disorders. Recently she centered her work on the assessment and intensive treatment of women who suffered from co-occurring disorders including substance abuse/dependence, depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder and bipolar disorder.
Joanne perceives that effective treatment must be client-centered and focused on all conditions that have adversely affected the clients' self-awareness, skills, and understanding of addiction and mental health issues to enable them to achieve their goals of recovery.
