Clyde’s background in Pastoral Care provided him with the education and compassion that has been a hallmark of his therapy with alcoholics and addicts. He possesses the CAC-R from the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP). Five years of experience in a hospital based treatment program and fourteen years of experience in the long term treatment of addicted health professionals and others, has provided him with a solid understanding of addiction and the components that can complicate the recovery process. Clyde said in a recent interview: “One of the greatest joys in my life comes from the smile I see on the faces of successfully treated addicts and alcoholics. In almost 20 years of this work I have been privileged to witness many patients experience the return of abstinence, the gradual return to meaningful socialization, the frequent restoration of family relationships, resolution of legal issues, etc. Perhaps the most apparent result of long term sobriety however is the spiritual lifestyle that invariably accompanies it. I never tire of watching the reemergence of spirituality in the recovering addict.”
